Sport Orillia has announced the 2016 inductees to the Orillia Sport Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees are: Jacob Gill ‘Jake’ Gaudaur Sr., Harry Gill, Brian Orser, and Rick Ley. The inductees were announced during a press conference at Twin Lakes Secondary School February 15th. Watch more here.
Orillia Hockey Players Honoured at Annual Banquet

Players from both the house league and rep programs of the Orillia Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) capped their season with an annual year-end banquet Sunday at Rotary Place.
Hundreds of hockey players, coaches, volunteers and family members congregated at the rink over two afternoon sessions, where they enjoyed pizza and pop and swapped stories about their memorable hockey seasons. Each squad had its moment on the stage, where each team’s most improved, most dedicated, and most sportsmanlike players received Esso Medals of Achievement. Read the full story.

The Orillia Sports Council presents the second Orillia Sport Hall of Fame Induction Gala Saturday, April 23rd at Casino Rama Resort.
Tickets are selling fast for this spectacular night that will recognize the inductees: Jacob Gill ‘Jake’ Gaudaur Sr., Harry Gill, Brian Orser, and Rick Ley.

New Orillia Business Fun Ball Hockey League

The Orillia Ball Hockey League (OBHL) is offering a new loop for businesses. This exciting new league offers employees and their co-workers a chance to play on a team against other local business teams in a non-competitive environment.
There is no prior experience or skill required. It’s more about having fun than winning and is an opportunity for business owners to increase the morale of their staff and bring them closer together as a team.
The new league will be Mondays from 7-10 p.m., from March 21 until May 9 at the OBHL facility, located at 995 Memorial Ave., Forest Home Park. Read more.
